Skin Deep Electrolysis

We all want to feel good about our appearance, but sometimes it’s difficult to be positive when we know there are areas we would like to change if we could. If excess hair is one problem area you’d like to eliminate, electrolysis (permanent hair removal) can help you do just that. This procedure will eliminate your unwanted hair and, in the process, give you a new self-confidence. Electrolysis can definitely change your life in a positive way.
DONNA CROSSLEY RN, BSN

Huntsville's Electrolysis Clinic

I am a registered nurse with a bachelors in science degree from Jacksonville University School of Nursing in Jacksonville Florida where I graduated magna cum laude in 1995. For over 20 years I have worked in the nursing field, as a military wife, moving all over the US serving our country and providing quality patient care at the same time.

I, like many electrologists, fell in love with the field of electrolysis by having it done on myself. I was hooked from the start but it took me many years to settle down and finally retire from the Army with my spouse and have the time to go to a school to learn the trade. Now I look forward to applying my knowledge, skills and personal experience to caring for you.

How Electrolysis Works

An electrolysis treatment involves the inserting of a sterile probe, the same size as the hair, into the hair follicle opening down to the dermal papilla. The dermal papilla is the electrologist’s target. It is the part of the follicle that contains blood and nerves and feeds the growing hair. If the papilla and the regenerative cells surrounding it are destroyed, the hair will die. When the probe is in place, a low-level electrical current is applied that will destroy the papilla and surrounding cells, and loosen the hair in the follicle. The hair is then removed.
Many hairs will be eliminated with only one treatment, but some will need two or more treatments to achieve permanency. Electrolysis involves a series of treatments over a period of time. The length of time depends on the amount of hair, it’s coarseness, and the cause of the excess hair, but once the papilla has been eliminated, the hair is dead and will not regrow.

Causes of Unwanted HAir

Many factors can contribute to the growth of excess hair:

Topical influences may also play a part. These are external influences on the body that cause an increase in the blood supply to the skin and hair follicles. Included in this category are sunburns, scars, and prolonged tweezing and waxing.

You don't have to deal with shave bumps, plucking and sticky wax forever . . .

Electrolysis is the only FDA approved form of permanent hair removal that can treat all colors and kinds of hair in all skin types without a problem.
